About Hush Hush

Hush Hush Marketing (Pty) Ltd was launched by Edward Lawrence in late 2006, originally as an SMS night life guide.

Launching during the busy touristic season in Cape Town, South Africa, Hush Hush got off to a cracking start. Great relationships were formed with the venue and event owners (for which we advertised all events for free) and the users enjoyed the ease of use and accessibility of this SMS service. However, as the touristic season came to an end, the usage of the service slowed down.

Realizing that we needed to change in order to stay alive in the trend based Cape Town nightlife industry, the current Hush Hush system was developed.

Based on our strong relationships formed while offering the nightlife guide, we decided to offer free access to our VIP database to all the top clubs and events listed on our system. All that our vetted and approved members now need to do is SMS, and their name is place on the requested VIP guest list. This concept has rocketed. On arrival at the club or event, the Hush Hush VIP knows that he will be looked after and treated preferentially, and what's more, its free!

The clubs benefit by knowing that the Hush Hush members are each handpicked to ensure that they know how to have a good time, and are not afraid to spend money (or alternatively know how to get others to spend it). Each event also benefits by having all the details posted on all the sites Hush Hush has direct RSS feeds published on (including 38.co.za, capetownwebcam.com, and many tourism information centers).

The classic successful win win business model developed itself to where we are now.

Hush Hush, today, is the most up to date nightlife guide in Cape Town, with a large database of the top influential people that party here, growing by the minute. We are now in the process of launching Johannesburg, London (UK), Paris (France), and St Petersburg (Russia) and the word is spreading like wildfire.
